Theotokos Shrine
Theotokos Shrine is located on a pilgrimage site in Cebu and is home to a statue of Our Lady of the Family. The place was once famous for the phenomena known as the 'dancing light.'
When the site was being constructed, a farmer discovered something strange. His plow collided with an unusual thing directly behind the location of the statue of Our Lady of Fatima. What it was was a fifteenth-century antique base for a monstrance bearing the monogram AM, Ave Maria, similar to the AM on the Miraculous Medal, and an ancient form of the cross that was imprinted on the large host for consecration.
Steps leading to the Blessed Sacrament are located directly under the altar. One could spend a whole day in the Eucharistic adoration chapel. Apart from being serene, one is surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. One window below has a view of the scenery.
The Monastery of the Holy Eucharist, also known as the Our Lady of Lindogon Shrine and commonly known as the Simala Shrine or the Simala Parish Church is a Roman Catholic pilgrimage church dedicated to the Virgin Mary in Sibonga, Cebu, Philippines. The Simala Shrine is a Roman Catholic pilgrimage site. The site hosts the image of Our Lady of Lindogon, which is believed to be miraculous by devotees of the Virgin Mary; subsequent to its reported shedding of tears, it was credited with the healing of those who were afflicted with dengue in the area in 1998.[4] The image has since that time reportedly shed tears on four more occasions, the latest being on September 8, 2016.[5] The image, originally assigned as that of Our Lady of Fatima, was donated to the Marian Monks by Terry Brooks from Pampanga. The construction of the Simala Shrine is also believed to be the realization of a prediction by Ingko Niyong Villamor that the hills of Lindogon, the current site of the shrine, would become "holy" once a "miraculous white lady reign in the place".
The City of Naga Boardwalk is a great place for a morning jog or an evening stroll. Sometimes called the Naga Baywalk, this large and spacious recreation ground has become known as the City of Naga’s most popular public park. Unlike other nature parks in neighboring cities, Naga Boardwalk is hidden away from the highways and sidewalks. The best part is that there isn’t an entrance fee, which makes giving this place a visit one of the many cheap things to do in Cebu. Also in the running to be the best place to unwind in Cebu, nothing is more relaxing than enjoying a cool breeze paired with a beautiful view on a sunny day. Unfortunately, the absence of a roof will be a concern. Plan your visit properly by checking the weather beforehand. You should go to the park either early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the heat of the sun. Your first option of things to do is to simply sit down. Benches facing the sea are installed so that you can sightsee and watch the clear skies. You can set up a picnic, but make sure that you will be bringing a cloth for when you sit on the floor. There is enough space for you to run, walk, and chat with your friends or family, or have a solo trip to relax. The boardwalk isn’t the only place you can go to, however, as there are many other places along the way that you might find interesting. The park has many food stalls that sell everything, from traditional Filipino street food to the new food trends that are taking over social media. You even have several fast food chains like Chowking and Jollibee around the block if you are craving those burgers, fries, and rice meals.
